Who we are at
Arias Bros Jiu-Jitsu
Our School
We are a warm and welcoming community for everyone to join and feel at home in. Our goal is to be an outlet to release stress, build camaraderie, or gain confidence for those in Fairview Heights and East St. Louis, O’Fallon, Belleville, and Swansea. In our academy, you’ll find an open-minded approach to Jiu-Jitsu lessons. We focus more on American Jiu-Jitsu, which adds creativity and modern teaching to the traditional aspects of the art. Our academy was born from the passion of our owners (and brothers, hence the name) – Robert and Erik Arias. They have gone through all the ringers of Jiu-Jitsu to get to where they are now. Come join them as we all grow through Jiu-Jitsu classes together!
Our History
Our October 2025 grand opening was just the beginning of another journey for us in Jiu-Jitsu. Academy owners Robert and Erik Arias have seen their lives change from training in the martial art. The brothers’ paths are very different, but have still led to the same place. Robert has trained in martial arts since 2007, learning MMA, Boxing, and Jiu-Jitsu. He has competed worldwide, winning IBJJF and other large tournaments. Erik’s journey isn’t as long as Robert’s, but has still had a profound impact. He began in 2019 and quickly began competing in ADCC Open and IBJJF tournaments, thriving in both. His and Robert’s passion to open a school came from how Jiu-Jitsu changed their lives. They hope to bring that similar experience to others in a safe facility. The two also have goals to build a youth and teens traveling competition team and to help kids get out of their comfort zones on and off the mat!
